After-School Writing Camps for young writers, ages 8-13. THURSday afternoons.Albany Middle School English teacher, Abby Skrivan, MA, offers these engaging, supportive after-school classes with the aim of making writing fun and stretching the imagination. Participants will develop and deepen their mastery of the writing process in small, collaborative groups. They will take part in a wide range of writing exercises, including cooperative games, poetry, story writing and peer editing. Students will explore their ideas through writing and develop their skills at refining and polishing a finished piece. Revised pieces will be published in a magazine students can take home. Note: students who attended in the summer of 2023 or to previous after-school classes are encouraged to attend! Each session will have a different focus and we will build on previous skills.
